4Pipe-Hidropig carried out another successful project, this time in the four floating thermoelectric of Karpowership, located in Porto de Itaguaí, RJ. These power-generating ships are super modern structures, containing transmission lines in the complex, floating storage and regasification units in addition to temporary towers for transmission of the generated energy.
Do cleaning pigs accompany all the technology and modernity of the project?
The Pigs used by 4Pipe-Hidropig are constantly improving models, as well as all the projects which we work on, customized for each material, need and customer. For the thermoelectric cleaning, the cleaning pigs were released inside of each pipeline, meeting all specifications and recommendations. It is important to remember that all pipelines were tested in their “pig worthiness”, that is, the ability to pass the pig throughout the pipeline path, without obstacles.
Working in partnership with the customer
A partner responsible company, has daily monitored the services of pigs displacement and inertization of the lines. 4Pipe-Hidropig performed all operations using gaseous N2. We started the gradual cleaning using pigs of excellent properties in the pipelines to remove debris, dirt and scraping for removal of possible particulate material, dust and debris from and remnants of pipelines assembly. The result is that pigs have removed a lot of dust from the inside of the lines, an extremely satisfactory performance.
