A pioneering tool, created with engineering and national assembly, the Pig Plug is a project that was born after years of studies designed to create a device that adequately replaced the use of bentonite (clay material that moves inside the pipeline through pumping, causing breakdowns and even stops in interconnected equipment).

The first use was recorded in October 2013, for operational and safety needs in the maintenance work of the OSVAT 42 Oil Pipeline.
The 4Pipe engineering team was triggered by Transpetro to create a tool with characteristics for locking the ends of the pipeline, at the time of preparation of bevel and welding of the pipe, and most importantly: avoid the barrier with bentonite.
The Pig Plug met all the needs of the operation and, after welding, the tool shows a Bidirectional Mandrel Pig characteristic.
Recently, in March 2022, Transpetro again requested us for a OCAB 38″ Oil Pipeline blockade, to replace an existing valve in the pipeline track, an operation that was carried out with the Pig Plug.
