The pigs passage operation was carried out in a raw water transport pipe, made of carbon steel, with nominal diameter DN16″ and an extension of 8,100 meters. After the operation, there was an increase in the flow rate from 660 m3/h to 1,251 m3/h, and, after system stabilization, a reduction was achieved in the decrease of the electric energy current consumed by pumping units, in 23%, bringing up savings in kwh consumption in the system.
