This project consisted of setting-up the device called Pig SLR (Launcher and Receiver System of Pigs) in food and pharmaceutical transport pipelines. Through the process of passing pigs, the product removal and internal cleaning is done, in the pipelines built of stainless steel.
The Pig SLR system provided is composed of pig launch and receiving stations, which can be operated manually or automated. Special full-pass valves are used to allow the pig to pass through, these can have pneumatic actuator, allowing to be connected and operated via PLC. We have Pigs of Discflex model, in NONtoxic PU or pharmaceutical grade silicone, which have already undergone tests of extractables and leachables, proven the quality and efficiency of our products without risk of cross contamination.
The stations for launching and receiving pigs can be equipped with sensors to detect the presence of the pig, and thereby reduce the time of the pipeline stopping during CIP or product exchange.
